The Pair Model and the model picker
The flagship Pair Model (best long or short set-up per coin every 30 minutes, after fees, maker limit entry) and the pair page's Model picker that switches between Pair Model, Flow Model and Pattern Engine.
What the Pair Model is
The Pair Model is PatternXRadar's main model. Every 30 minutes it scores about 50 liquid USDT perpetuals. For each coin it weighs a long against a short, and for each side it compares many take-profit and stop-loss shapes. It keeps only the set-up with the best expected result after trading fees and calls it when that result is good enough. A coin with no good set-up gets no call: "no setup" is a normal answer.
Each call comes with its own entry, take-profit, stop-loss and leverage. Entry is a maker limit order at the price of the call, so you get the lower maker fee; if the price runs away before it fills, the order lapses and nothing is opened.
After entry the trade is managed, not just left to its levels:
- The model looks at the coin again every 30 minutes; Re-analyse shows you that reading for your open trade at any time. See Re-analyse an open trade.
- After 12 hours a pair trade is not closed by time. Its stop tightens half way toward the current price and then trails the best price, so a slow trade can still finish well while its risk shrinks.
- Optional account settings (flip to a stronger opposite call, several trades per coin, trailing, stop past the liquidation pile, a leverage cap) are explained in Pair Model account options.
The model picker
Every coin's page (click a coin on the Dashboard) has a Model drop-down in its header. It decides which model's result you see in the Prediction block under the chart, and which levels are drawn on the chart:
| Choice | What the Prediction block shows | On the chart |
|---|---|---|
| Pair Model (default) | The newest 30-minute reading: long and short side by side, the open call if there is one, and the coin's record. | The entry, TP and SL of the open call (Pair call), or of the stronger side at the live price (Pair view). |
| Flow Model | The Flow Model's read of the last closed 5-minute bar: long or short set-up, its plan and the chance of reaching small targets before the stop. | The Flow Model's levels. |
| Pattern Engine | The pattern verdict: chart patterns on nine timeframes, checked against the coin's own history back to 2018. | Pattern levels. |
Your choice is remembered in this browser, so the next coin opens on the same model. The models are independent: they can disagree, and that disagreement is information. See The Pattern Engine view for the third choice.
Reading the Pair Model block
- PAIR MODEL · reading of 14:30 (6 min ago) · scores every 30 min - when the coin was last scored.
- A badge on the right: call open: LONG/SHORT (a call is live), setup: LONG/SHORT (a side is good enough now), or no setup.
- Two panels, LONG and SHORT, each with:
- expected result (top right) - the model's expected result per trade after fees, in % of the position. Positive and large is better; near zero or negative means no edge on that side.
- win chance - how often the model expects that set-up to reach its take-profit before its stop.
- TP and SL - the take-profit and stop distances from the price, in % of price.
- The stronger side is outlined in green (long) or red (short) when it is good enough to call.
- On the chart - the exact entry, TP and SL drawn on the chart.
- This coin so far - how many calls have closed on this coin, how many reached TP, and the average result per call after fees. The small chips are the latest calls (L = long, S = short) with their results.
All of these are estimates from a model. A win chance of 60 % still loses four times in ten; size every trade so a stop-out is affordable.
How to use it
- Open a coin and leave the picker on Pair Model.
- Check the badge. No setup means wait; the next reading is at most 30 minutes away.
- With a set-up, compare the two sides: a strong long and a weak short is a clearer picture than two similar numbers.
- Look at the levels on the chart and at the Stop piles (estimated liquidation clusters) before you act; see Liquidation map, Stop piles and SL past pile.
- To let the calls trade by themselves, set an account's algorithm to Pair Model on the Trading page; start with a demo account. See Demo trading and Auto-trading algorithms.
- The Signals page lists every Pair Model call with its outcome.
Limits and caveats
- The Pair Model covers the coins it has been trained on (about 50 liquid USDT perpetuals). A coin outside that set shows no reading for this coin yet; the other two models still work on it.
- In some market conditions the model does not take one of the sides (for example shorts in a strong up-trend); the reading says so.
- Results quoted for the model are 12-month backtests and paper results: hypothetical, before slippage you may get, and no promise of future results. Live fills can be worse than test fills. Read the risk notice.
- Leveraged perpetuals can lose more than you expect in fast markets. A stop is an order, not a guarantee of the price.
